Autumn in Inzell ...
...is hiking and mountain hut time! Everyone has a different approach: Some are more relaxed and others more athletic.

This is not problem, since there is a path to suit everyone amongst Inzell's 150 kilometers of hiking trails. Another unique feature in Inzell, is the new hiking software with GPS maps that you can use to facilitate finding any trail. You can research height differences as well as detailed route descriptions including information and tips regarding huts serving refreshments along the route. You can also determine the length and duration of a planned hike and either download the information as a .pdf file or as a map on your Garmin device. Here is the link to the route-planning software.

There is a lot to explore in Inzell. Either on one's own or on the Panorama Path – cackling geese peaking through fences, windblown hay sheds in green meadows, small birch forests rustling in the wind…. Those who want to know exactly what they are burning can walk along the "Calorie Promenade." Ten educational panels over six kilometers inform you about your calorie use. After 13 Minutes you have burned away a glass of wine, after 90 minutes a whole ham hock. A path specially planned to ease stress has four stations: breathe, forget time and let nature surround you.

There are ten summer pasture mountain huts in and around Inzell that you can reach within two hours. Most can be reached via a mountain trail or a forestry road. The effort is always worth it: to feel the mountain air in your face, to rest on flower meadows, to enjoy the view of mountain peaks in the distance, to pick raspberries and to breathe in the scent of pines. Once at the destination, the mountain hut hosts will serve you local specialties, savory homemade cheese or fresh buttermilk.

The only hut in Inzell that is open all year around is the Keitl-Alm on the Kienberg. The tourist office will be happy to inform you about the opening times of the other huts.
